Within the Settings tab, you are able to personalize your Fuel Buyer with tasks such as adding your name to the application, changing your password, setting your default Market Analysis location, and setting up price alerts.

Below are the settings we encourage you to set up when you first login.

 

Account

Overview

Underneath your settings, you have the opportunity to adjust your account, including:

  • Personalize your account – such as your first name, last name, and email.

  • Change your password.

Personalize your account

Location:  Settings  >  Account  >  Account Info

  1. Enter your first name in the First Name field.
  2. Enter your last name in the Last Name field.
  3. Confirm that your email address in the email field is correct.
  4. Click Save Changes. Your name now displays at the top of the application.

 The Alias field is not used in the Fuel Buyer system.

Change your password

Location:  Settings  >  Account  >  Change Password

You should change your password regularly to ensure a higher security for your DTN Fuel Buyer.

Password rules: Passwords must be at least one character in length, with a maximum of 32 characters. Use letters and numbers only. Do not use special characters such as $, @, *, etc.

 If you forget your password, contact Customer Support.

  1. Enter your current password.
  2. Enter a new password.
  3. Enter the new password a second time to confirm it.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Preferences

Set Site Preferences

Location:  Settings  >  Preferences  >  General Preferences

  1. Click the Settings tab.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Enter the following:

Field

Description
Price Export Start Date If you have the Price Export role, you can enter the initial start up date to begin exporting prices from DTN Fuel Buyer to your back office system. The first time you export prices, you will be exporting any prices received on and after this date.
Exchange Username If you are a DTN Exchange subscriber, enter your username for the DTN Exchange so that you can automatically login.
Exchange Password If you are a DTN Exchange subscriber, enter your password for logging on to the DTN Exchange.
Timezone Select the time zone for your office location. This impacts Price Alerts, Marketwire, Weather, and other aspects of Fuel Buyer.
Observe Daylight Savings Time If your office is located in an area where Daylight Savings Time applies, click this box. If applicable, the time changes in the system during Daylight Savings Time.
Default Dashboard Location Select the terminal location to which you would like the Market Analysis pane on the Dashboard to open when you log on to the DTN Fuel Buyer.
Contact Device Select the address where you want to receive price alert notifications. (These must first be set up through the Price Alerts Manage Contact Devices screen.)
Spot Ticker Standard provides prices for refined fuels in the major regional spot markets across the U.S.  Extended  includes averaged-based spot prices with standard real-time spot prices. This diminishes the impact of intraday volatility to provide an alternate view of spot market trends.
Price Alerts Select the Disable Sound on Price Alerts checkbox to mute the sound that plays when a Price Alert occurs.
