You can create an advanced price formula based on a Platts spot assessment. The price formula can be based on the trading day mean or low price. It can be tied to the previous or the current day Platts assessment.

Your company must be a Platts subscriber in order to set up Platts price formulas through the DTN Fuel Buyer. Companies authorized for Platts Global Alert (PGA) data will be able to create and view price formulas based on any Platts symbol. Companies that are authorized for Platts Dispatch Categories will be able to create and view price formulas based on Platts end-of-day data for their region only.

Platts price formulas will appear on the Price Analysis screen and can be exported through the Price Export screen. Platts price formulas will also be available through the Best Racks screen.

If your Platts price formula is based on the current day contract, it will not be available for display through Price Analysis or for export through Price Exports until the Platts price for the current day is available. This typically occurs in the late afternoon.
