Used in conjunction with Best Rack, Freight Management enables you to factor in freight costs when determining your best sourcing options. By ranking your options by best total cost (cost of product + total freight charges) you can make a smarter Best Rack decision.

Best Rack Screen: When you select a destination for delivery of product through the Best Rack screen, your report will include freight costs associated with the load. The report lists the best price first.

In order for your Best Rack report to display freight costs, the following must be pre-defined through Freight Management:

  • The Best Rack location must be associated with a destination through Freight Management.

  • If you use a custom location group as your Best Rack location, each location within the custom location group must be associated with the same destination through Freight Management.

  • The freight miles for the distance between each Best Rack location (i.e., the origin or loading terminal) and the destination must be defined through Freight Management.

  • The freight mileage rate table within Freight Management must include a range that covers the distance between the Best Rack location (i.e., origin terminal) and the destination.

  • (EFM users only) Destinations must be tied to a delivery area.

  • If you have a Point-to-point freight agreement, the charges must be setup on the destination for each terminal that serves it.
