The Fuel Buyer Dashboard is the first screen that appears when you login into your account. This quick, market analysis platform is really four tools in one:
-
Price Alerts – Keeps you up to date on price message alerts from your suppliers who send prices through us.
-
Spot Ticker – Provides insight into spot market trends and helps you determine when prices for a specific product are on their way up or down.
-
DTN MarketWire Headlines – Keeps you up to date on the latest headlines in the refined fuels industry.
-
Market Analysis – Provides a consolidated market location view of products and prices. It compares posted or adjusted prices, DTN FastRacks lows and averages, and spot market prices. You can also see custom prices, custom suppliers, and custom product groups that have been set up by you or your administrator.
If you are an Allocation Tracker user, you can view your Allocation Summary Status over your products in your Market Analysis.
System Alerts can also be viewed from the dashboard.
Personalize the Dashboard
The Dashboard is the first screen that appears when you log on. To get the most out of it and do business your way, we recommend you personalize the following:
Set Market Location: The Market Analysis pane on the Dashboard displays products and prices for your default market location. You can reset this default to any market location you want.
Change Other Default Settings: The filters, such as branded or unbranded, that you set as your default for Price Analysis, will also be used as the default for Market Analysis. Click here to set Price Analysis/Market Analysis defaults.
Change Product Order:By default, the system displays products in alphabetical order. You can change that order so that the products you need will be listed first.
Block Supplier Messages: If for some reason you do NOT wish to receive price alerts from a specific supplier, you can block that supplier. Later, if you change your mind, you can unblock the same supplier.
Price messages from blocked suppliers still appear in your Price Messages inbox.
Add Product Groups: The very first time you open Fuel Buyer, Market Analysis will display prices for the default product group, Spot Market Products. Once you have added custom product groups, you can change the default product group by using the menu in the upper right corner of Market Analysis. The next time you log on to Fuel Buyer, Market Analysis will display information for that product group.
Adjust a Price: You can add an adjustment to the posted prices you see in Market Analysis. Just go to Price Adjustments to apply a discount or surcharge as either a percentage or a specific dollar amount.
Inactivate a Price: You can stop a price from being displayed and/or exported by making it inactive. Easy options are provided to inactivate a supplier, terminal, or product, or you can create a custom rule for specific supplier, terminal, and product combinations.
Add a Supplier: You can create a custom supplier for a private brand supplier or other supplier that is not in the DTN system, and then associate a custom price to that supplier.
Add a Price: Custom Prices makes it possible to add prices that you don’t receive through DTN. The price can be set up for a supplier that is already in our system. Or you can create a custom supplier (through Custom Supplier) for a private brand supplier or other supplier that is not in our system, and then associate a custom price to that supplier. You can also associate the custom price to specific terminals and products.
Change a Price: The Price Changes screen gives you a way to manage temporary price adjustments, such as day deals and special short-term discounts. The next time your supplier sends a new price, the new price will override the price change.
